Opera for primary school children [performed in Swedish]
Who are you when you wake up? Are you the same person who went to bed the night before? Have you ever woken up, the alarm rings and breakfast is on the table, everything is as usual but you have forgotten your name? Does it sometimes feel like your name is Belinda when your real name is Edvin? Do you suddenly feel like a girl when you are a boy? How does your family react to this news, how do they take these, the transformations of the night?
“I Don’t Know Who I Am and I Love It” is about a fluid identity and a negotiable identification, a queer opera in Swedish for elementary school children, a story about how tired you are of being seen as one type when deep down you are completely different. How an ordinary morning can become the most unusual morning ever. What “unusual” is.
