“”There have been many attempts to establish a permanent ensemble for contemporary music in Gothenburg. The latest is Gageego!, which was formed in 1995 and plays art music from throughout the 20th century. Most of the orchestra members work at the Gothenburg Opera or the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. In Gageego they get to play bolder music that is closer to them, and meet new composers.

The piece on Atalante Volume 2 is written by Fredrik Österling, who graduated from the composition program at Artisten a year and a half ago. He has already established himself as a frequently hired composer and also works part-time at Musik i Väst with responsibility for the new music.”
