French 20th century, with journalist and writer Knut St\u00e5hlberg as your guide.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

French music often has connections to literature; poets such as Baudelaire, Verlaine, Mallarm\u00e9 and Roubaud have all influenced modern French music. Starting in the Romantic era, the time of George Sands and Chopin, this program meanders through French history up to our own time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knut St\u00e5hlberg, resident in Paris since 1945, lagendary radio voice as a long-time correspondent for the Swedish Radio, also news presenter for Rapport, acts as ciceron. St\u00e5hlberg has, among other books, written a book about George Sand (or Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin, as she was actually called). The fact that he also has in-depth knowledge of French life and society, not least in post-war Paris, makes him an interesting “counterpoint” to the music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if Knut St\u00e5hlberg is great for the atmosphere and the political context, Gageego! and significant 20th-century French composers serves up the music. A newly written work by the young Parisian Fran\u00e7ois Sahran will also be premiered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
