From the founding as a Moorish city in the 9th century until today, Madrid has remained a stage for conquests and siege, the center of a world empire, political tension, war and terror – but also great artistic drama.
The chamber ensemble Gageego! continues its exploration of contemporary music metropolises. This time, music, composers and cities are being contrasted against ongoing or past conflicts – political as well as artistic.
It is also a testament to how widely different expressions can tell us aspects about the same struggle, about the same experience.
Note that this concert takes place in the Great Hall, with audiences and musicians on the podium – you can’t get any closer closer to the music!
Also, don’t miss the chat with a featured composer at 5 PM (included in ticket price). Gothenburg Concert Hall offers discounts for subscribers and students.
