In collaboration with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the chamber ensemble Gageego! and the Association of Swedish Composers, Stim has arranged a composition competition during the spring.
The winning entries have now been selected and will be premiered on October 10, 2020, when the music is performed in the Stenhammar Hall by Gageego! Due to the pandemic, the audience is welcome to tune in digitally.
The games, which were held in three different categories based on crew, have received hundreds of entries from Swedish composers.
The winning entries, one in each category, have been selected by an international jury consisting of, among others, representatives from Gageego! and are also rewarded with SEK 50,000 each.
The overall theme for the games is The Art of Conversation.
The three categories
- Chambre separé, for solo works, approximately 10 minutes duration
- Thin walls – talk to the neighbour, for duos or trios, pproximately 10 minutes
- A crowd in a room – full drama, for 4 – 7 musicians, approximately 15 minutes

- Duet: Henrik Denerin: totenkopf
- Ensemble: Leilei Tian: The Hymn of the Pearl

The Swedish Chamber Games is an initiative of Stim’s promotion board which is carried out in collaboration with the Swedish Composers Association, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the chamber ensemble Gageego! and Bohm Bohm Room.
