SUMMARY:From Croft to Grisey
DESCRIPTION:In 2018 – 2019\, Gageego! goes out hunting for contemporary links\, the starting point being composers that the ensemble has longed to perform for a long time and favourite composers.\nBased on these Gageego! icons\, the ensemble has searched\, traced and sniffed out (googled!) its way to the different composers’ respective influence on the world of music and later composers. Seek and you will find\, listen and you will dream… \nGrisey’s Vortex Temporum is the central piece with its whirling sounds and arpeggios\, but is given a new light here by the two young composers John Croft\, from New Zealand\, and Irish Ann Cleare\, who take the legacy of spectral music into a new era of tonal and spatially explorative music. The chains become long lines and brittle whispers – harshly beautiful. \nProgramme\nJohn Croft Trio (Seirenes III)\nAnn Cleare I Should Live in Wires for Leaving You Behind\nGérard Grisey Vortex Temporum \nTickets
